TeamOsaka is a collaboration of: Osaka City, VSTONE Co. Ltd., Osaka University, Systec Akazawa, ROBO-GARAGE, and ATR Intelligent Robotics and Communications Laboratories, established in 2003 to develop robot technologies in Osaka Japan. Their first robot VisiON won the humanoid league tournament at RoboCup 2004 in Lisbon, Portugal. The VisiON robots are fully autonomous and have an omnidirectional camera mounted on top of their head that allows them to see in every direction at once. Since they don?t have to waste time moving their heads to look around this technology has given VisiON robots a notable competitive advantage in the game of Robot Soccer.
