During an Ignite Seattle event earlier this year Leo Dirac gave a quick passionate presentation on the topic of our intellectual and moral responsibility to develop Transhumanist technologies before the Earths increasingly unstable makeup crumbles our currently elevated state of civilization. In the face of nuclear, chemical, biological, or good old fashioned natural disasters it is possible that the progress we so easily take for granted could be halted before humanity firmly cements its intellectual roots in the form of mind-machine uploading or other Transhumanist processes.

Existentialism and Humans/Machines.

There is no doubt that human enhancement will occur in the future, as it is occurring in the present using new technology.

A science based society, does not use so called morality/civil society/religious concepts to implement new ideas, if those ideas are beneficial to it citizens.

Experts trained in science decide on issues.

Trans-humanism does not change some of the basic existential questions or ideas connected with being a human.
Even the introduction of certain enhancing devices, leaves open the door of opinion and belief.
That is a basic freedom of thought and action

Facts and science based conclusions are used in the administration of Technocracy. There will not be much of a future unless that method is adopted.

Using that method, special interest groups that are opinion and belief based can not control the actions of the citizen.
Belief and opinion are used to control people in a Price System in the form of civil laws (Democracy). Even so called 'Democratic' voting is in effect a civil contract used to control people, (50 people can decide what 49 people should or should not do, based on opinion and morality concepts).
That type of 'civil' society based on antique concepts from the middle east and elsewhere, that were invented during a time of scarcity, is a form of contract, used to control people in a Price System (Democracy).
Technocracy precludes any kind of special interest control in its design.

No contracts can be used in a Technate concerning its citizens. Hence it is not based on opinion or belief, and human liberty is therefore a basic part of Technocracy design.
